The game of greed

As you are probably aware of, corporations play a major role in our everyday lives.  It seems that our society revolves around it.  Corporate world is in many ways unescapable.  We live in it and deal with it on a daily basis.  Take a second and look down at the outfit you are wearing.  Do you see in name brand logos such as The North Face, American Eagle, Columbia, etc.?  Take a look at the computer you are starring at right now.  Is it Dell, HP, Mac?  Corporations are all around us.  So much so that we don't even realize it most of the time.  It seems harmless, right?  Well that is not always the case.  Major corporations can actually be very dangerous.  Greed is the name of the game and every corporation plays it.  Money is most always top priority when it comes to the corporate world.  The public's health and interests are not the first things that corporations think about when trying to expand their business.  They want money and in turn power.  There are countless examples of how corporations can be dangerous, but I am thinking of one in particular.  There is a growth hormone that was invented by a corporation called Monsanto. The hormone is injected into cows.  The goal of this hormone is to allow the cow to produce more milk.  Monsanto created this hormone in order to boost their profit.  This product did not undergo very much testing and was questionable.  Of course, being a corporation who's business needed a boost, Monsanto somehow got the product approved.  Later, the truth was uncovered.  This hormone has the ability to cause cancer in human beings.  Basically, you could be developing cancer from the milk that you drink.  Monsanto is very much aware of the harm that could come from this growth hormone but they hide it from the public.  They don't want anyone to know of the dangers because then the product wouldn't sell.  It is not about whether this growth hormone is capable of killing humans.  It is about their business thriving.  This leads me to consider how many of other harmful products the public is not aware of because the product slipped through inspection.  How are we to know?  The corporation can't lack in business so they for sure wouldn't tell.  We, as the consumers, have to be on the look out for products similar to this one.  We should take caution in what we consume and strive to not be controlled by corporations.  As easy as it is to be manipulated, we can be aware of the power that corporations have the ability to emcompass.
